Niagara students qualify for Ontario high school track and field championships

Some of the most-precious medals in high school sporting activities in Ontario will be waiting at the goal when the provincial track and area champions obtain underway Thursday at York University in Toronto.

Since the competitors pool is so deep and vast, platform coatings in track as well as field are amongst the most tough. Unlike Ontario Federation of Institution Athletic Associations (OFSAA) champions in hockey, volley ball as well as basketball, sports in teams are grouped according to their institution’s enrolment, engagement in track and also field is limited only by age.

Trainees are eligible to complete in beginner, junior, and also elderly regardless of the size of the colleges they stand for.

2 days of certifying concluded Friday with the leading four finishers in private and also group groups at the South Regional champions going on to the provincials.

The OFSAA track as well as field champions were last held in 2019 prior to the pandemic cancelled most secondary school sporting activities for the adhering to 2 years.

Provincials at York College are being held over three days.
